1. You are my reliance, to You my need
From You my request, in You my triumph

2. In You is my love, to You my matter
Is there any but You my aim and my trial?

3. O King of kings, none but a servant at Your door
Take my revenge, O Judge on Judgment Day

4. Make easy my guidance, lessen my burden
O Creator of creation, pave my positions of acceptance and establish my minarets

5. O God, prepare me for good
And deal with me gently as is Your flowing bounty

6. O Relenter, O Giver, grace me with success
For my patience has failed

7. It suffices me that I have raised to the Rich
With my words of pleading and destitution

8. It suffices me that I have reached the door of Might
With humility, confession, and falling short

9. In the cosmos, who but You is hoped for
To remove harm or veil disgrace?

10. Who but You is the Sovereign called upon
To quench thirst and heal the stricken?

11. No, by God, none but You has authority
Entreated by elders and youngsters alike

12. No, by God, in the cosmos is any Lord
But You, who sees and knows my secrets

13. So fulfill my good expectation, if my supposition
Grants me that You are All Powerful

14. And crown me with the crown of knowledge, and make
The garb of righteousness and piety my emblem

15. And enlighten me with faith and prosperity
And allow me the Hajj and sacred rites

16. And from the meadow of the Guide, the Expected
For attaining success in the Abode of Eternity

17. Leader of Bani Luway, pillar of Bani Nazar
Beloved of Truth, best of creation, Taha

18. Cloud of Messengers, knower of havens
Crescent of cosmos, lamp of its night

19. Dawn of horizons, sun of brilliant morning
Gardens of security, key to sublime ranks

20. Cloud of munificence, treasure of gifting
Vanquisher of adversity, pourer of boons

21. Destination of homelands, fruitful pilgrim
Noble spirit, thanked for his efforts

22. Pure branch, praised carpenter
Messenger who came with Book of Truth

23. Saving us therewith after enslavement
And told of unseen that none can know

24. Until he knew it, every house
Crowned with beauty and splendor for what

25. He was clad in majesty and dignity
He stood on the minaret of glory, calling

26. With signs of light, pure gold
And established religion when the pagan

27. Colonnade collapsed, its walls fragmented
And revived the nation of Islam after

28. Its rites were restored post decay
Its sun became clear again after eclipse

29. Its full moon rose again after darkness
He humbled Chosroes’ empire after its pride

30. And weakened Persia’s abode with desolation
Extinguished their fire after it raged

31. Dried up their water after it flowed
The trunk inclined toward him from his dawning

32. As the stranger yearns for homelands
The cloud timed itself to shade his harsh heat

33. Bringing abundant rains
The moon split itself for his sake

34. As did the sun of the day
The gazelle called him: “Save me

35. So I may fulfill the rights of little ones”
So he released her and she turned back

36. To graze near her Lord, due to neighborhood
The camel took refuge, saying “we believe”

37. And submitted to his order after fleeing
Al-Walid spoke to him words of truth

38. And his saying proved true, ignoring waste
His arm informed him of his name when

39. Zainab kindled the fire of parting
In his hand, the staff turned into a sword

40. With it, the flood became coursing
The flint therein glorified with confession

41. The wood flourished, becoming verdant
The cave received his command however

42. A wonder for the consulting sage
Suraqah's eyesight melted when

43. The All Powerful wished to appear
His mother saw the signs of prophecy

44. When Mukhhul Asshar examined him
The saliva of his mouth healed Ali's eyes

45. With the knowledge of an adept guide in waste
Thus did Ibn Al-Akwa and then

46. The foot of the valiant Ibn Utayk after being broken
The right hand of Mu'adh was restored when

47. It was cut off, as if it were the left
Khabbab's abdomen was ripped, then mended

48. By his touch, how many harms were remedied!
How often did his prayer enrich a poor one

49. As it saved from the heat of flame
His handfuls of dates fed his army

50. Though they were war steeds when loosed
He felled a ewe and it gushed milk for him

51. Never before flowing without lambing
The hatred of enemies dimmed his light

52. Though the fires of war blazed
Yet those who feared him felt safe the day of Opening

53. While the sword of victory sharpened its blades
To the extent fame is a heritage continued

54. Through the preservation of leaders from leaders
Where glory is exalted, towering peaks

55. And sublime glory an unsheathed sword
Matters of pride with which spears blossom

56. Met by resolute swords unsheathed
A courser that protected Ali's glory

57. Though he refused to protect wealth or realty
A full moon that rendered the valiant a horizon

58. His arrows therein being piercing stars
For him are the excellent steeds, when

59. The pagans' horses retreat in flight
Arrows unleashed like flaming sparks

60. That amaze lightning and celestial bodies
Or galloping seas in violent waves

61. Or blond ones interlaced with blossoms
So Ashhab dressed the meadow in garb

62. And adorned it with the lights of flame
And Adham bowed before the torrents

63. Therein, where he traversed the heat of day
And Ashqar, whenever he set forth, his shoulders

64. Were clad in fires taken by force
They reached the utmost peak of men of truth

65. For them is the act of the wild beasts
They kindled valiance though it raged like fire

66. Its smoke being only dust
When they ignited flashes, the heads of foes

67. Were like scattering embers
If they brandished slender bayonets, the appointed spans

68. Of their enemies became short
If their tongues smiled, the eyes of enemies' wounds

69. Wept with intense sobbing
Whenever they showed the face of war

70. They drove away with spearheads wild donkeys
Tribes of ferocity and folk of courage

71. And a band of glories and towering pride
The nights were darkened due to them, after supposition

72. And their secret exposed after concealment
They see death pursuing glories

73. Sweeter than life alongside the lowly
A guide guided them to fortune—one who guides

74. To determined goal, lofty minaret
And led them to guidance after blindness

75. And honored guarding them after destitution
So one steeped in passion proclaimed submission

76. And one of aversion openly surrendered
They are aid for one seeking refuge and flowers

77. For one plucking, flowers for a bee
They are rain for loyalists, and loyalists themselves

78. And wrath for schemers and dispossessed
Leader of Leaders, river of donors

79. Most noble one sought, extended hand
Majesties neighbor him when he rises

80. So those at his summit obtain bounty ever-flowing
He is forebearing, pardoning heedless ones

81. No forbearance but of the All Powerful
We have quenched our thirst for guidance from his protection

82. Pleased, too lofty for sipping realty
We desired the meadow of his nation, so we reveled

83. In a fragrance surpassing aromatics
We sniffed the horizon of his Sunna, finding

84. Flashes of might in clouds of sandstorms
Leader of humanity without peer

85. And unique noble without rival
O sun of sovereignty without setting

86. O full moon of bliss without darkness
Is not the summit of glory made

87. For your meteors to orbit?
Does not the news agree that pilgrimage

88. Is to your meadow, flourishing with visitors?
I wish I could split open the land for you

89. And oceans plunge their depths
I wish to race with the wind in yearning

90. And fly with the birds in flight
To witness the meadow that contained sublimities

91. For it deserves to captivate minds
And kiss the earth holding bones

92. Whose worth transcended the prideful
And sip from cups of success a spirit

93. Cooling the souls aflame
And fulfill each obligation in its sanctuary

94. Circling, pacing, and performing sacred rites
And cast upon its sands, from my tear

95. Rocks never matched by pebbles
And let my anthem therein be praise

96. Making my hope its motto
Guiding my steed by oath it called them

97. To their homelands, Caller to Rest
Crossing the lands on a moonless night

98. Whose stars slumber from every watcher
Wandering in the halo of travel wisely

99. Like the gait of an ostrich in robes of dignity
Draped in the gown of wandering when

100. My left took the reins from the Influencer
A mount leaping like an arrow

101. When it dashes, straight without veering
Yearning for homelands, enraptured, in longing

102. For those milestones and dwelling
Never are its cheeks spared kisses

103. Nor are pastures deprived of its herd
And if it reaches the terminus, exerting effort

104. To the beloved’s land on the ridge
I would ready a wise batch,

105. Their gear upon obedience and sound choice
I would unleash the excellent racers

106. Traversing the wastes with their cheeks
Sending them in relay until

107. I gesture a greeting to Bani Nizarr
There my eyes would delight to see them

108. Enjoying life in the most blissful halting place
I would prohibit them then from traversing

109. The wilderness and wastes
O Greatest of Mankind, may you listen

110. To praise from one professing need
Could I ever return to your sanctuary

111. That I may take refuge in your all-sheltering grace?
I found your earth a gentle meadow

112. And picked from its ripened fruits
I enjoyed its yields, so I began to harvest

113. Branches—praising you exuberantly
So I composed praises from one steadfast

114. On a cliff of burning passions
My tongue has free rein in praising you

115. And my praises of your sublimity are concise
You are greater than any praised

116. In composition or scattering of poetry
But I praised you only to extinguish

117. Torment of grave or searing of flame
For I do not see anyone but You as recourse

118. Nor anyone but You to depend upon
So grace me, O Expected, with intercession

119. To avert any blow or take my revenge
It is unthinkable that I lose hope; I have a neighbor

120. Who gives me good tidings of your upholding pact
I have love, reverence, and praise

121. With which I profess destitution
O Mighty, You know my neediness

122. O Loving, O Blesser, facilitate
My affairs and protect me from evil of heat

123. Pardon my parents and delight in safety
For my elderly shaykh and guardian carpenter

124. And be kind to Muslims, be bountiful in prosperity
For my shaykhs, my pride

125. And perpetuate the rule of Your servant, the Best Ruler
My father Umar and the striving Leader

126. And aid him with might and victory
And sound guidance, openings and triumph

127. And bless Your servant Al-Mansur and support
His efforts with Your kindness ever-flowing

128. And facilitate for him to allow me the Hajj
And grant me bliss with no rivals

129. Send Your blessings upon Your Prophet—blessings however many
Were stirred by the warbling of the dove

130. And deliver to his family the purest prayers
Continually innovated and combined

131. And reward his companions with utmost good however lengthy
Were the paths beneath the darkness lit by the traveling night
