1. Guard my heart, for it is with you, O full moon
And tend to it with the care of He who created you

2. And keep the pact, and do not be hasty with
What requires the humility of a lover, your loftiness

3. And join together the affection which, if
Cut off with aloofness, would not have cut you off

4. O gazelle who turned away when I visited him
I am, by Allah and by sacred law, with you

5. Do not destroy the home of my heart, it
Is your spacious abode that has accommodated you

6. And if you wish that I fulfill a sorrow
Then fulfill whatever you wish, you will find me following you

7. And my intimacy with you, which did not satisfy it
I said: Go in peace and restrain your greed

8. He said: Leave this and move on, I called: No
Allah has not heard, for He who created you has heard

9. You are not of me, no, and I am not of you
So turn away from me and turn your tricks

10. You are foul in spirit and body, so
Allah will not join those whom He has joined you
