1. Buds with soft cheeks, their braids the night,
Appearing are slender waists and faces like the full moon.

2. The meadows have brought out their moments,
Dark eyes whose depths have disappeared.

3. They walked, with nothing but their eyes as companions,
And reached, with nothing but their eyelids as breakers.

4. They were radiant, with nothing but their breasts as flowers,
And soft, with nothing but their bodies as blossoms.

5. For a while the lids were languid, the eyes faded,
The torment of yearning in tender waists unyielding.

6. Harsh ones that hunt lions, their ropes,
How can the harsh ones hunt lions, when they are but lionesses?

7. Ones swimming away, never once feeling fear,
No wonder the gazelles are swimming away.

8. Swaying when a melody greeted them,
To it belongs the light, and to the darkness curtains.

9. Passionate love, the night has veiled its sun,
Will the caves conceal it despite its brilliance?

10. When it appeared, the beauty hid all lamps,
And it is true that two lamps together dim each other.

11. If she sulks, how can the sun of her beauty be hidden?
The caves whisper of what is beneath them.

12. And if she travels, how can the people find love’s path?
The wandering full moons make her lovers go astray.

13. The moon hints of it, an observer sees,
An idea occurs, and a bird chirps.

14. I task my mind describing her, and it wanders,
While failing to fully grasp some of what I commanded it.

15. Neighbors! The springtime salutes your meadows,
Though we are far, and the neighbors absent.

16. Greetings to the living in those meadows and its plains,
With a soft drizzle of promises and downpours.

17. Meadows where when night grows dark, their horizons shine
With those glowing stars like flowers.

18. As if they were archers and they like statues,
Bent over their bows, their eyes intently gazing.

19. My two friends, arise and listen to my murmurs,
For I expose what my heart conceals.

20. Do not tire of my long speech, for it is sweetened
When the absent beloved one speaks.

21. Do not make the ghost of memories dreary,
For imagination visits my eyes like a friend.

22. Do not deny the memory of ‘Aqeeq and lightning,
For I still recall the shore, remembering.

23. Do not despair of the spirit of affection’s era,
For neither is the pact forgotten, nor affection fleeting.

24. But the path of love is a heart I left,
One evening when chests were stifled by throats.

25. The winds of separation blew, they were cloaks,
And the swords of departure flashed, they were gazes.

26. Where the atmosphere stirred the clash’s echo,
And the gloom’s darkness had settled.

27. No flag of night retreated in the west,
And no dawn rebelled in the east.

28. I turn my gaze upon the horizons, imagining
Them as gardens while they are but stars.

29. So neither does a meteor plunge in the Milky Way’s river by my will,
Nor does the Milky Way’s sea disappear by my command.

30. Sleep has fled my eyelids, so for this reason,
My eyelids in the darkness revolve.

31. O morning star, you have dazzled creation,
And proof of my sincerity is your evident splendor.

32. Your eyes entrusted my heart with secrets,
And the rule of passion is to not divulge secrets.

33. By my soul, your cheeks were springtime at first,
Then followed another springtime from your coquetry.

34. These tears of passion like pearls
Were scattered on the plains of my cheek.

35. Lightning on the horizon’s edge has riled me,
As a bird in the nest’s pulpit excites me.

36. For pleasant moments between an observer and the observed,
Making pleasurable, as the cupbearer and onlooker do.

37. I spent with them hours of leisure, as if
Time had overlooked them while it slumbered awake.

38. In a garden the clouds shaded its meadows,
With a youthful springtime’s embroidery and flowers.

39. Where the sword of dawn drew its blade,
And the proud sun of morning rose.

40. And where the messenger of day pounded its glad tidings,
Announcing good news with those tidings.

41. And where the breeze tilted the branches of acacia,
Upon them hearts, like birds, soared.

42. And where the doves of the nest, eloquent speakers,
Yearn for the subtlety of speech from the pulpit.

43. And where narcissus eyes wander,
As mouths of buds gape.

44. And where the river flows rapidly having thinned,
As it did for the blessed one's settling of the dust.

45. A sovereign ascended, atop glories of rule,
For its grandeur, even great kings submitted.

46. And a lord whose traits of justice correspond,
Warning against evil, while commanding good.

47. A full moon rising in horizons of fortune,
And a rain from the sustenance of creation, pouring down.

48. And a sea whose essence of being is clear to the eye,
And it's no wonder that gems are purified in the sea.

49. A path of guidance to be guided, though perceptions
Among the blind have failed.

50. A brother of might and bounty, thus either fervent zeal,
Or tolerant and shady, bountiful.

51. He established a star of fortune's sake in the kingdom's horizon,
And his traits are processions between the two honorable ones.

52. He dominated the protection of eminence with white and spears,
And with white and line, glories are built.

53. Ask the war about him, while swords shine
And spears are carved, unsheathed.

54. And around him are his clan of Hafs, a band
Of dark lions over steeds like islands.

55. When they establish reproof in war, addressing it,
The plumes of heroes' turbans become pulpits.

56. They are the people, possessing the glory and ascension,
Does not ascendance return to them, along with glories?

57. Obeyed when they draw swords,
And obeyed when the scabbard entices dispute.

58. They rise high where they travel the heights, and disappear,
While their honor is abundant; no treasures are withheld.

59. When they disappear, we say: rising stars,
And when they appear, we say: shining suns.

60. Their perfume is like ambergris, and it is
The fragrance of a soft breeze, mingling with flowers.

61. Lions, when the clash excites their seas,
The islands walk beneath their saddles.

62. A lion leading them when hardship befalls them,
Bold, the hardship’s boldness, combatting.

63. When the fire of his rage ignites in his eyes,
You see demise frequenting souls.

64. The sun and its lightning frighten them,
While they are but his darknesses and flashes.

65. Demise disappears from them while he is absent,
And attends to his swords while he is present.

66. He ridicules burdens, while they are heavy,
And trivializes champions, while they are great.

67. He humiliated the transgression, after its glory, and oft
The transgressor was humiliated by him, as the dweller was honored.

68. So days do not defeat the resolute one,
Nor do days empower the defeated one.

69. Nor do fates aid the abandoning one,
Nor do fates abandon the aiding one.

70. His well-wisher is lavish in fortune’s garb,
While his adversary stumbles in misery’s hem.

71. His protection is an impenetrable shield upon us,
Between his protection and events, a deterrent.

72. He has a way in virtues that compete,
Its first competing with its lasts.

73. He is the sea except his generosity’s spring
Is its conduit, and its conduits have flowed.

74. A generosity that heals mankind of its afflictions,
While good news of generosity upon him is recurrent.

75. And wisdom firmly nailed to the heavens’ thickness,
And resolve steadfast upon the star of stars.

76. For every tender branch, he has a season from him,
And in every neighborhood, a flower blooms for him.

77. So neither is the moon except flourishing through his life,
Nor is the sea except abundant by his hands.

78. Precedence in virtues he has, and succession,
An interior realm of glory, and manifest.

79. When describing the traits of praise for his eminence,
Tribes have congratulated whom they were congratulated upon.

80. To God belongs the secret in his ascending heights,
Each clear in the meaning of that secret, perplexed.

81. So astonishing that I attempt praising him,
While minds struggle to praise his ascendance.

82. O you whose kind deeds immersed the lands equally,
The deserts and settlements became equal through them.

83. Your father is the head of glory’s body, and its heart,
While you are the aid of the eye’s right in the head.

84. Hopes gather around you, the orbits crowned,
So you expand them generously, and your plenty suffices.

85. And the heights disdain your ascendance
So your continuity gains them despite it.

86. Neither does your vigilance sleep from them,
Nor does your resolute courage fall short of them.

87. I praised you honoring my opinion, so my poetry
Was nourished praising you, competing in the heights.

88. I swear by the house which you are its pillar,
And the towering heights which destiny engraved.

89. If the poets fall short praising you, which
I partake in lengthening, sharing.

90. I will compose for your lofty aspects a necklace of eulogies
Solidarity in generosity, and congruity.

91. And I will reveal, from the metaphors’ stock, brides
Upon them, from delicate diction, veils.

92. You are whom without, no mouth would speak for me,
No palm wrote, and no thought occurred.

93. So be generous to the son of Khuluww for he
Is grateful for your praised deed, family and friends.

94. And remain in the heights of your ascension, O star of its fortune,
For your glory is aided and your grandfather, victorious.

95. So the orators live as long as a rider halts,
And the entertainers live as long as a night-visitor appears.
