1. He commanded sleep to his eyelids and a tear flowed,
So its flowing became that of a deprived, anguished one.
١. أمَر الجَفْن بِسُهْدٍ وَنَهَرْ
دَمْعَهُ المَسْجُومْ
2. His cheek and saliva are apple and aroma,
His face a garden.
٢. فَغَدا سَائِلُهُ لَمَّا انْهَمَرْ
سَائِلاً مَحْرُومْ
3. The toothstick and temple are night and morning,
His stature a sapling.
٣. خَدُّهُ وَالرّيقُ تُفَّاحٌ وراحْ
وجْهُهُ بُسْتَانْ
4. The brilliance and mouth are musk and meadow-flowers,
The complexion, lilies.
٤. وَالسَّنَى وَالصُّدْغُ لَيْلٌ وَصَبَاحْ
وَالقَوامُ الْبَانْ
5. A Josephian beauty, a Houri gaze,
Fashioned by the Eternal,
٥. واللَّمَى وَالثَّغْرُ مِسْكٌ وَأقَاحْ
وَالطُّلَى سُوسَانْ
6. Of gazelle, twig, and moon,
Leaving no blemish.
٦. يُوسُفِيُّ الحُسْنِ حُورِيُّ النَّظَرْ
صَاغَهُ القَيُّومْ
٧. مِنْ غَزَالٍ وَقَضِيبٍ وَقَمَرْ
لَمْ يَدَعْ مَعْصُومْ
