1. With pride of sword, guest, and dew
Of a generous king whose chest swelled in assembly
١. أَما وَاِعتِزازِ السَيفِ وَالضَيفِ وَالنَدى
بِخَيرِ مَليكٍ هَشَّ في صَدرِ مَجلِسِ
2. Appeared between palms generous
Aiming towards a face radiant with eloquence
٢. بَدا بَينَ كَفٍّ لِلسَماحِ مُغيمَةٍ
تَصوبُ وَوَجهٍ لِلطَلاقَةِ مُشمِسِ
3. He brought forth a daughter graceful
To which the branches sway
٣. لَقَد زَفَّ بِنتاً لِلخَميلَةِ طَلقَةً
يَهُزُّ إِلَيها الدَستُ أَعطافَ مَغرِسِ
4. She makes up for the beauty and home in estrangement
So enjoy yourself with her however you wish and be at ease
٤. تَنوبُ عَنِ الحَسناءِ وَالدارِ غُربَةٌ
فَما شِئتَ مِن لَهوٍ بِها وَتَأَنُّسِ
5. She signals to her all the joy of lilies
And every narcissus glances to her
٥. تُشيرُ إِلَيها كُلِّ راحَةِ سَوسَنٍ
وَتَشخَصُ فيها كُلُّ مُقلَةِ نَرجِسِ
6. The wind blew on her gently in the night
In a path of clouds sent by a shining dawn
٦. فَحَفَّت بِها ريحٌ بَليلٌٍ وَرَبوَةٌ
بِمَسرى غَمامٍ جادَها مُتَبَجِّسِ
7. She came pleasing the eye with fresh water
Draped in a gown of silk
٧. فَجاءَت تَروقُ العَينَ في ماءِ نُضرَةٍ
تَشُنُّ عَلى أَعطافِها ثَوبَ سُندُسِ
8. And filling the eye of the sun with sheer joy
Beauty and the scent of the wind's breath
٨. وَتَملَأُ عَينَ الشَمسِ لَألاءَ بَهجَةٍ
وَحُسنٍ وَأَنفَ الريحِ طيبَ تَنَفُّسِ
