1. Alas for many a head that rests not near
Its brother head while to the grave so near!
١. أَلا رُبَّ رَأسٍ لا تَزاوُرَ بَينَهُ
وَبَينَ أَخيهِ وَالمَزارُ قَريبُ
2. Their hard unfeeling sides the rocks present,
And one stands up a preacher eloquent.
٢. أَنافَ بِهِ صَلدُ الصَفا فَهوَ مِنبَرٌ
وَقامَ عَلى أَعلاهُ فَهوَ خَطيبُ
