طَيفٌ عَلى شَحطٍ أَجَدَّ مَزارا

Granting it the fragrance of lilies there to spread
٢. تَلوي الشَمالُ بِهِ قَضيباً رُبَّما
عاطى بِسوسانٍ هُناكَ عَرارا
3. So I kissed what I had kissed, a cheek that would pour
From lips with wine, wine in ceaseless pour
٣. فَلَثَمتُ فيما قَد لَثَمتُ عَلاقَةً
خَدّاً يَسيلُ مَعَ العُقارِ عُقارا
4. I did not know when I enjoyed that kiss
If it was Paradise or flames that met my eyes
٤. ما إِن دَرَيتُ وَقَد نَعِمتُ بِلَثمِهِ
ماذا رَأَيتُ أَجَنَّةً أَم نارا
