Tossed between despair and hope's sweet light?

5. Where are the scars from a bosom's gashes?
Where is dawn 'neath the lashes?

6. Hail the fair Joseph's grace and beauty!
But perfection is an empty illusion.

7. Take what you see and hear, but never believe
What the sunrise reveals or stars can achieve.
