١. أَلا قُل لِذاتِ الخالِ عَنّي إِنَّني
لَأَرغَبُ عَن خالٍ تَطَلَّعَ في خَدِّ
2. And that affinity made me spurn that mark
For I see it on the cheek as paste of roses
٢. وَزَهَّدَني في ذَلِكَ الخالِ نِسبَةٌ
أَراها بِخالِ الخَدِّ مِن جُعلِ الوَردِ
