1. Reason with me with the purity of what is in the religion,
And leave what the criticizers say,

2. And hasten, so death meets life,
For each is bound to perish.

3. Reason with me with a drink that takes away cares,
And dispels the sorrows of gloom,

4. And make resound in ears blocked by silence,
The singing of Al-Mawsili or Dahman.

5. Shawwal has come, so welcome life,
And transgress forcibly upon Ramadan.

6. The support of a young man is good for the valleys of time,
Listening to singing and flutes.

7. And cups flowing with the water of vineyards,
And the hands of singers guide the cups.

8. From a potion that kills all propriety,
And makes the repentant happy with the repentant.

9. As if the temperament sparks from it,
Sparks in the cups of the drinkers.

10. So drink joy and disobey those who blame it,
It is a good provision for the youth.

11. And accompany life with travel and settlement,
Do not fear what the two fates decree.

12. It is enough for one seeking help against fate to take as pillars,
A praiseworthy cloak from events.

13. A king who acquires virtues as treasure,
And you see him as the most generous of youth.

14. His comfort was created for generosity and dignity,
And his money for gratitude of tongues.

15. Fate has made him king over the servants,
And the sons of Qahtan have conceded to him.

16. Fragrant, with a beautiful smile,
His hand and the sky are believing.

17. His face shines towards who seeks his refuge,
And his hands gush with rain.

18. He made the days between two times,
With abundant custom and hot battle.

19. So if he traveled on Thursday for war,
The fluttering flags refrained from waving.

20. And if you roused him for booty,
The horizons were too narrow for his generous chest.

21. A rain for drought, if spring stayed,
Covering every place with torrents.

22. O Abu Ghanim you remained in life,
And you are immortalized whatever the times flow.

23. We do not care if death has seized you,
Whoever is struck with shackles and crying.

24. We have made sending messages to you,
An escape from our betraying time.

25. And we carried needs over saddled camels,
Guaranteeing the needs of riders.

26. There is no generosity beyond your generosity that is aimed for,
And none but you relieves the troubled.
