1. When the caravans swayed away
The hearts raced with the caravans leading them

2. Determination turned away and passion harmed it
By God, it stumbled in its turning

3. The longing shook us until its bird flew
Yearning, as it pulled us into its twisting

4. The loved one is far; we die of love for him
Empty the effort of the one who loses its way longing

5. If only he would give our sights
The emergence of a radiant ascent we desire

6. And it shredded within us torn hearts
Whose parts are agonized and destroyed by separation

7. And he said, “Are souls offered willingly
For a single glance I unveil?”

8. Our speaker would say, “Take every limb
For we own the life and what is in it”

9. And allow the eyelash to gain a glance
At his appearance which has glorious meanings

10. O you who lowered the veil in the majesty of his abode
A screen from him and its edges undiscovered

11. Its essence imbued with light and sanctity
And its hidden overwhelmed with abundant flow

12. It overpowered the horizon with heavily armed horsemen
Its sultanate shook the universe turning it to him

13. And made the people sit forcibly by his ruler’s conquest
And tied them all in his causes

14. An abundant and mighty place of pride
Great in esteem with its present and absent

15. An enclosure overflowing with glory and kings
The masters of glory are from its loyal ones

16. The brave ones of the people went astray in blindness
If not for the signs from its guiding scale

17. If the realities of those citadels appeared
Every perceptive and wise one would be confused

18. The prophets are the hearts of the world and its masters
And the saints whisper to them with wisdom

19. To it are raised the hearts of the knower of secrets
By an attraction dangling from its sublimities

20. Symbols of the art of mysteries wherever followed
Secrets appear from its meanings

21. The saints know those narrations
And Gabriel, the spirit of revelation, narrates them

22. The sun of prophecy shone in the horizon of the living one
And Ahmed the Compeller protects it

23. A message that covered both worlds
Fulfilling all far and near

24. May God not distance my heart from its settings
Nor detach my soul from its melodies

25. The secret of passion flowed in dangerous anonymity
A ship guided by “in the name of God” steering it

26. In it grew a painful yearning in the heart
Incapable of resisting its causes

27. From where can the soul ascend to rest
After its journey in the shadow of its valley?

28. The celestial presences flutter
Publicly in its plains until the resurrection

29. The most noble of the white presences is his
And the best companion is the one in God’s possession

30. The enclosures of holiness cast their necklaces
All passing by its door, entering and leaving

31. Above the fluttering concern of the Throne’s carriers
Is its dome which purity inhabits and God constructed

32. The fragrance of the holy musk never ceases to spread
From the secret of precious qualities in its horizons

33. Manifesting prayers as Muhammad, its beloved, accepts
For its essence from the Blessed One’s grace

34. And a thousand thousand eternal greetings
Public and private with salutations

35. Translating the passion from a devotee for his master
From the essence of a soul which met its ultimate wishes

36. Until there appears to it from his dome’s perspective
A full moon to finish it and give it life
