1. Wonders roam the domains of hearts,
By God, the secrets of those wonders!

2. He stands upon the carpets of the unseen as if present,
Lofty is his connection, though most absent.

3. He does what the present one does not do,
Whom the Most High has hindered from those ranks’ narrow passes.

4. As if the affairs of the unseen were dedicated to
The Household of Ali, of the visions of the son of Galib.

5. And in the Ghorr, from the Household of al-Husayn, are their arts,
And their position among them is the most honorable of positions.

6. Through them, by the sons of al-Rifa‘i,
Its ways were entrusted, surrounded by gifts.

7. They are the select elite, who have climbed
With their resolve the summits of the stars’ blossoms.

8. And among them are the Banu al-Sayyad, moons of their house,
They are its notables in the East and the West.

9. As for him, their grandfather is the talisman of glory,
And treasure of understandings, the mines of largesse.

10. An imam in the racecourse of his grandfather’s tracks,
Cleaving the clouds of dust, he chose the highest creed.

11. His heart folded the arcane verses of knowledge,
Abundant in merit, that exhausted every auditor.

12. The non-Arabs of the folk circled his door,
And the outpouring of his goodness overflowed to non-Arabs.

13. And he poured upon the people torrents of his overflowing rain,
Whether far or near in their paths.

14. Secure, trusted, truthful in his promise, a lord
Great and mighty in rank, sweet to partake.

15. We came to him to beg a drink from his fresh water,
So it gushed forth, and its abundance encompassed all sides.
