1. My body worn by unremitting grief is healed,
And I stand at the edge, the burden of sins removed,

2. The caravan has reached my loved ones,
But they refused acceptance and bound me in rejection.

3. In their nearness, after intention, and in their cheer,
Alas! How often time has promised but not fulfilled.

4. O you whom I melt for when the guide mentions them,
By your lives, my masters, abandonment is enough for me.

5. I complain to you of this time, for in its affairs,
It has weakened my strength and destroyed me.

6. And you have granted it, for a lovesick one, your side,
Secluded from all people in the wilds, self-sufficient.

7. The very rocks almost softened toward me in mercy,
And the iron heart melted, becoming pliable.

8. The people I left in the morning have journeyed on,
And the gentle breeze whispered through the hillsides.

9. They raced upon meadow flowers and hurried on,
Leaving the trail bare, empty and desolate.

10. I tried to catch up but my strength failed me,
Despite myself, and the guide grew weary.

11. So I made my tears my wings, as if
I flowed in tears cascading without restraint.

12. My struggle in its turbulence that has
Thrashed about and exhausted my eyelids from weeping.

13. They traveled on while my tears alone flowed
Loyally by their encampments, ever faithful.

14. O caravan that stirs up my affection,
Kindling a grieving heart that knows no serenity.

15. Wanton time has toyed with it until it is shriveled,
Lamenting the separation, melting in yearning.

16. It weeps and laments whenever lightning flickers,
And night rises, trailing cloaks of darkness.

17. O caravan, if you meet my loved ones, convey
My words, and add to them humility and gentleness.

18. A servant of yours is in Parthus today; oh where
Are the meadows of Tus and the hills of Serenity!

19. Rise to gather his fragments, for you have often
Raised up the lowly until he became exalted.

20. O Lord, O succor of the anguished cry! For when
A despairing soul called out, You answered and sufficed.

21. I call on You compelled, in the name of Muhammad,
The essence of life, the Chosen One.

22. And his family, the masters, and his companions,
And all who have followed them.

23. Join the cords of my allegiance with kindness, and heal
The breaking of my heart, for the enemy has gained strength.

24. And pour upon my sickness the remedy of Your grace,
O You who restored Job to health and wellbeing.
