1. Our wine has intoxicated the people of spiritual discovery,
And raised our rank above their great ones.

2. The refuge of chieftains, the notables of the tribe,
Wherever they desired to journey secretly, our presence graced it.

3. The lions are frightened of us in the forests because of
A servant escorted by our breath’s scent.

4. And the fires of war grow cold
When our glance fans them in their raging.

5. And how shocking and startling
Is our might which overcomes their might!

6. We have humbled ourselves from the loftiness of our souls,
And to the Guide we have raised our lineage.

7. And through our Master our appearance has soared,
And to him alone our intention is sincere.

8. And with the water of good fortune from his spring
Our clay was kneaded in its unseen realm.

9. The envious and deluded try to erase us,
But God’s hand continues to make us firm.

10. And when the specter of love cuts us off,
The resolve of the Prophet’s spirit revives us.

11. My banners have waved before the eyes of the eminent,
The pillars of the tribe, because of our wisdom.

12. And our spiritual axis has shone throughout creation,
And our sainthood has marked the kingdom.

13. And over the descendants of the lords of spiritual discovery,
Through the Most Distinguished, our prestige is exalted.

14. How often we have raised one dispirited by lethargy,
And our help has relieved one fearful.

15. And in the open sea, how many times has
A drowner in deep water been saved by our aid!

16. Through poverty toward God, and tribulation,
Our worldly fortune has appeared.

17. Our life story was written on the tablets of the blind,
Before the appearance of humankind.

18. How many wasting sicknesses has our medicine cured,
Diseases wasting the bodies of the afflicted!

19. Good fortune spreads a mantle over them,
While our glance gives succor to the helpless.

20. No distressing trouble has been lightened in time
Unless our care took note of it.
