1. When we came to the land of Hiash, with yearning
For an uncle whose affection encompassed us,

2. We saw his grave, wherein lightning lay resting,
So clear was the gleam of the lightning that sheltered his tomb.

3. A shrine it is, a generous scabbard in truth,
Its lord a polished blade, keen its steel.

ูุตุงุญูุจููู ุงูุนูุตูุจู ุงูุตูููููู ููุตูุงูููู
4. Where are the seeing eyes, to discern his worth,
When in those hills his beauty shone revealed?

5. Dew flows copiously, saturating the sinner's gate,
And his apparition emerges, to greet the returning throng.

ููุจุฑูุฒู ุทูููุฑุงู ูููููููู ุฎูููุงูููู
6. His tomb but a lofty dome, from which
His crescent shines for eyes to behold.

ูู ููุนููููู ูููุงูููู
7. We sought refuge with Riayah's great men, in the east,
And in Hiash an image of him stood before us.

8. No harm that the caravan of those who worship
Should return to Hiash, and pitch their tents.

ู ููุชุงูุง ุฑูุญูุงูููู
9. Though those eyes are absent, their trace remains,
And though the living one is gone, his shade endures.

ูุฅูู ุดุทูู ุฐุงูู ุงูุญููู ูุฐุง ุธููุงูููู
10. Say to those, powerless to attain the heights -
But for you, no other can claim closeness to the Shaykh of Butayha.

11. Ali, the sun of insightful minds, the light of his eye,
The lofty themes of his speech, the ropes of his discourse.

12. In the expanse of Hiash we relate the tale of his beauty,
In the precincts of Muthayyab, the sublime speaks his glory.

13. To you, uncle, I present as a gift
The words of an ardent lover - his speech is no vain prattle.

14. O son of perceptive hearts and their sheikh!
O axis whose deeds no apex can transcend!

15. Your father - Abu'l-Abbas - and the Mount are one,
You are his truths, you are his men.

16. In you flows the inheritance of his spiritual path,
In you the perfection of his clay was molded.

17. As though I see this tomb, ringed about
By mountains - indeed, the stoutest of heart are his mountains.

ุฌูุจุงูู ุฃูุฌูู ุฃูููู ุงููููููุจู ุฌูุจูุงูููู
18. Caravans converge upon it, returning,
Each drinking their fill of his copious bounty.

19. The hearts of beasts of burden ache at his door,
Exhausted in their effort to reach him.

ูุณุฑู ุฅููู ุฌูู

20. Never has he turned away empty-handed one who sought him,
Nor one despairing of attaining his hopes.

21. Beloved of the Chosen One, son of his daughter,
None who implored you were left bereft.

22. You held sway, a master, in the caliphateโs robe,
With the guidance Ali bestowed upon you as your inspiration.

23. You are the adornment of the pinnacle, like Zayn al-Abidin in his sanctum,
You hail from Ahmadโs progeny, no doubt.

24. In you, of old, were melded his qualities,
And you were adorned with his traits at the Mount.

ููุฏู ุฑูุตููุนูุชู ุจุงูุทูููุฑู ู

25. Rebuked am I by one who reside in Hiash, for our uncle -
When the ties binding men are severed, grievous is their loss.

26. So honor, for his uncleโs sake, Abu'l-Majd, his uncle,
And of Saifullah Khalidโs kin, his maternal uncle.

27. Hizbar, tall in stature, a firmly established pole
Whom the Most Merciful chose - sublime is His majesty.
