The rope of Lilah's acceptance of her vows

12. There, let her don her gown and graze
Her meadow and pick its pools

13. Do not curb her with the reins
Nor change her love in any way

14. For she has brought you to your goal
And the lover leaves pleased, ransomed to her

15. O people of Lilah, passion is an inebriation
That sways from loving another their men

16. With Lilah our night is our day
Our souls dwell in her shade

17. She passes in procession bending
Her anklets ring in our hearts

18. By God, how splendid the rays of her beauty
And how sweet to us her coquetry

19. For her nature our manners are humbled
And our ways will bow to none but her

20. O breeze that passed by the east of ardour
Inclining to the right of it and to the left

21. You ignited a fire in a heart and by God
Lit up longing in his conscience

22. From slumbering Lilah wafted a scent
At which he wept for her ruins

23. By God, how many sighs she drew from him
And how many tears she caused to flow

24. And how much anguish resides in his core
And thoughts prolonged for her sake

25. And yearning raging in his heart
And affection she deposited in his mind

26. Lying at the door of Lilah, leaving
Behind all she had of love and all she owned

27. Shivering from sadness if she asked
With no answerer listening to her call

28. Lilah is sought but the like of her
Lilah is exalted, forbidden from union

29. I swear by the valley of her enclosure
And who saw grazing there a gazelle

30. And the caravans headed toward her
Exhausted by yearning for her beauty

31. She has eyes from eyes that have shed
Tears flowing to her pupils

32. And sent from her lamenting the clouds
Dragging behind them their tails

33. In love I keep the old pact
And how many souls passion slew

34. I love Lilah, heedless of blame
And cutting in her love the reproachers

35. My eyes see her and see no other
By God, none but her is made lawful

36. For her sake and her right there are purposes
Hopefully with resolve they will be attained

37. She has lifted to her Lord her palms
In love of her and shown her supplication

38. By God, times in bygone eras
Whose shortness crowded their length

39. The lover's mind depicts in fantasy
Her life of goodness and its miracles

40. O land of Lilah, shyness has not ceased
To sprinkle its hills with her traits

41. You are enough for me, a sleepless lover
For you all creation sought her favours

42. Faintly waiting for your sun that
Reached with its light perfection

43. And in the horizons spread its coolness
And spun between them its threads

44. Hearts of her loving people circled her
And with guidance she erased their misguidance

45. With her kindness she relieved their pain
Loudly, and cured their enduring afflictions

46. The bounties of the unseen overflow
Her right hand, though forms obscure them

47. She reveals the manifest and the majesty
Each lover asks for her bestowal

48. No stranger entered her sanctum
Her men remained her men

49. For her a band of loyalists stood
Her pillars and poles were the righteous

50. With their resolve she shook the mighty
And with her guidance awakened generations

51. By God, O my Laila, be gentle with one
Who roamed the wild and tossed his hopes

52. Amassed her treasures and missed her, and had
Flung open to her seekers their locks

53. Had the full moon sought what
Her Lord's grace gave in abundance, it would prolong them

54. So receive him with accepting his sincerity
And hearing his concise words
