1. They were a spring for hearts,
A paradise for eyes,

2. And a means for the people of the path
To the most sublime abode.

3. They lived honorable, pleasant lives,
Their livelihood was comfortable.

4. They won nearness to their King,
Their mounts did not falter.

5. They imprinted hearts with remembrance,
And tongues with eloquence.

6. They journeyed to the presence of their intimacy,
And trod the spacious meadow.

7. As for me, I say as their caravan
Moves on with them, "Oh, would that I were!"
