1. Are you still faithful to the pact of love,
Or have you become forgetful and broken that pact?

2. Or have you chosen another in place of me after what was between us,
Whether out of your own desire or because fate has changed you?

3. Do you truly prevent the sweetness of reunion in love,
And grant it to one who pretends while he is fooling around?

4. By my life, this is an evil innovation in love,
And those who originated it in love are wicked people.

5. Or are you, though steadfast in love, an innovator in it?
For I have come to you knowingly searching for this.

6. Is it from the two pacts and the law of Ahmad,
That you have delayed, or is there something rousing you?

7. By Allah, how the one who turns away is tortured in his love,
And I, without any doubt, still keep to the pact.
