١. وَتَرى الأَحرُفَ في أَسطارِها
لاصِقٌ بعضٌ وَبَعضٌ مُنفَرِج
2. So you see the adjacent embracing
And you see the separated a mouth with a slit
٢. فَترى لاصقَها مُعتَنِقاً
وَتَرى المَفروجَ ثَغراً بِفَلَج
3. Like joining pearls extracted
By a diving mind and an astute intellect
٣. كَاقترانِ الدُرِّ تَستخرجُهُ
فِكرٌ غوَّاصةٌ وَالذهنُ لُج
4. And blackness in whiteness that told
Of black horses on a face of sheep
٤. وَسَوادٌ في بَياضٍ قَد حَكى
سُودَ خيلانٍ بِوَجهٍ ذي نَعج
