1. They grasped no weapon and no sword they drew,
Yet proud they turned in battle well they knew
١. وَما اِستَلأموا حِرزا وَلَكنَّ لأمَهُم
بُرُودُهُم في المَعرَكِ المُتَلاحِمِ
2. Their part and portion. Back to them there flew
Each his black tent as though he left the foe
٢. فَآبوا بِها سُودَ الثِّيابِ كَأَنَّهُم
وَقَد قَتَلوا أَعداءَهُم في مَآتمِ
