1. In it are gatherings like maidens who recline
On carpets though no rain has moistened the meadows
١. فيها مَجالسُ مثلُ الحورِ قَد فُرِشَت
فيها الرِّياضُ وَلَم يحلل بِها مَطرُ
2. Onto terraces you see its tiles glistening eastwards
Like mirrors in whose reflection forms appear
٢. إِلى سُطوحٍ تَرى إِفريزها شَرِقاً
مثلَ المَرائي يُرى في مائِها الصُّورُ
3. As though from being watched so long it has blushed
So bashfulness has spread over its beauty's guards
٣. كَأَنَّما خَفِرَت مِن طُولِ ما لُحِظَت
فَقَد تَعدَّى إِلى إبهَائِها الخَفَرُ
4. A dome whose beauty is beyond any price
As if in it lie glory and life everlasting
٤. وَقبةٌ ما لَها في حُسنِها ثَمَنٌ
لَو أَنَّهُ فيها العز وَالعُمُرُ
5. As if it is lined with a carpet of unending roses
Whose warp and weft are fashioned out of them
٥. كَأَنَّما فُرِشَت بِالوَردِ مُتَّصِلاً
في الفرش فاتُّخِذَت مِنهُ لَها أزرُ
6. As if it shook for fear it might slip and fall
So terror shows in its complexion's pallor
٦. كَأَنَّما ذُعِرَت مِن خَوفِ سَقطَتِها
في بَحرِها فَبَدا في لَونِها الذعُرُ
7. A sea whose twin surging waves boil and seethe
O you who see a sea that from twin surges springs!
٧. بَحرٌ تَفّجر مِن لَيثَينِ مُلتَطِمٌ
يا مَن رَأى البَحرَ مِن لَيثَينِ يَنفَجِرُ
