1. Poetry is the essence of a person laid bare
And words are like the release of arrows
١. الشِّعرُ لُبُّ المَرءِ يعرِضُه
وَالقَولُ مِثلُ مَواقِعِ النَّبلِ
2. Some fall short of their target
While others pierce straight through the mark
٢. مِنها المُقَصِّرُ عَن رميَّتِهِ
وَنَوافِذٌ يُذهِبنَ بالخَصلِ
