But determination brings repentance after haste

After suffering harm from their determination

8. And how many bitter drinks seem sweet
When taken in sips

9. And how much filth lies
Beneath adornment, like hair under a comb

10. When a brother makes a mistake
Be quick to forgive and reconcile

11. As for what pains the soul to discern
Do not be hasty in confusion

12. Respect the elder and be gentle with the youth
If they act rashly in their foolishness

13. Do not seek faults and aim for moderation
Many things were written long ago

14. And how often does the aged stubbornly resist advice
Like a young camel at the outset

Like an energetic young camel

16. And how often has the bored and impetuous
