1. My friend brought absence with her,
God adorned that face beautifully.

2. She brought it while we have not enjoyed
The pleasures of life and the prime of youth.

3. So her burdens departed and lightened,
She brought no harm and we broke no debt.

4. Thus it landed upon my heart raging,
Grief for me though once it was joy.

5. And I said one day in Mecca, when
She sent greeting peace be upon us.

6. May God favor the messenger whom He sent
And the sender of the message itself.
