1. By my life! I have attained what I hoped for
And I have become one who no more fears what he did guard against
١. لَعَمري لَقَد نِلتُ الَّذي كُنتُ أَرتَجي
وَأَصبَحتُ لا أَخشى الَّذي كُنتُ أَحذَرُ
2. So none today is like myself, neither Chosroes nor Hormuz,
Nor the King of Nu'man, nor even Caesar!
٢. فَلَيسَ كَمِثلي اليَومَ كِسرى وَهُرمُزٌ
وَلا المَلِكُ النُعمانُ مِثلي وَقَيصَرُ
