1. The mother of Bishr saddened us,
After closeness, with endurance,

2. While we were all,
Perplexed, in the best of states,

3. When we heard a caller
To prepare for departure,

4. They panicked for the separation when
They descended to unload the camels,

5. And the tied up female camels
They avoided with reverence,

6. So they departed while my tears
Flowed copiously with grief,

7. For the love of smooth cheeked, playful,
Crescent-like Khawd,

8. The most beautiful of all creation
When she appears as an example,

9. She has captured my mind,
After patience and composure,

10. When the gray hair appeared on me,
In my temples and sideburns,

11. O advisor before me,
The forelocks of men are tempted,

12. So my heart is crazed with her love,
Infatuated, through the nights.
