حن قلبي من بعد ما قد أنابا

١. حَنَّ قَلبي مِن بَعدِ ما قَد أَنابا
وَدَعا الهَمَّ شَجوُهُ فَأَجابا

2. The forgotten one was stirred from the agony of love
And expressed sorrows and troubles

٢. فَاِستَثارَ المَنسِيَّ مِن لَوعَةِ الحُب
بِ وَأَبدى الهُمومَ وَالأَوصابا

3. That's from a desolate place belonging to Salma
Wearing a robe made of coarse wool

٣. ذاكَ مِن مَنزِلٍ لِسَلمى خَلاءٍ
لابِسٍ مِن عَفائِهِ جِلبابا

4. The tail wind followed him, it does not cease
Nor another that drives the clouds

٤. أَعقَبَتهُ ريحُ الدَبورِ فَما تَن
فَكُّ مِنهُ أُخرى تَسوقُ سَحابا

٥. ظِلتُ فيهِ وَالرَكبُ حَولي وُقوفٌ
طَمَعاً أَن يُرَدَّ رَبعٌ جَوابا

٦. ثانِياً مِن زِمامِ وَجناءَ حَرفٍ
عاتِكٍ لَونُها يُخالُ خِضابا

7. It returns the voice to an atmosphere it competes with

٧. تُرجِعُ الصَوتَ بِالبُغامِ إِلى جَو
فٍ تُناغي بِهِ الشِعابَ الرِغابا

8. Its ancestor is the courageous, valiant Abu Bakht

٨. جَدُّها الفالِجُ الأَشَمُّ أَبو البُخ
تِ وَخالاتُها اِنتُخِبنَ عِرابا
