1. Behold the lofty council and what
Our Master's bliss has gathered there -

2. The artisans' wisdom brought it forth, a miracle
That made it the best thing on earth.

3. It has a brilliance that makes eyes lower
When they perceive its beauty and salt.

4. As if it were a pearl amidst the trees -
The order of emerald is seamless in it.

5. As if the river in it were a flickering sword
Thrusting amid grasping and casting away.

6. It pours its excess onto the singing pool -
Water that rivals wine in the cup.

7. It depicts a sky with the hue of flowers covering it -
The rainbow's arc nurtured toward Capricorn.

8. Especially whenever the breeze stirs it
And birds sing in the myrtle and dawn,

9. It softens, flows, and overflows with coolness
As the hand of the victorious king overflows with gifts.

10. May God keep it for the world, so its rule
Endures in munificence, honor, equity, and joy.
