4. Floating and sinking in the mirage as if they were
Ships with sails on the waves

ุดุฑููุนุฉ ุนูู ุฃูู
ูุงุฌ
5. They left without warning me of their departure
Except for the gesture of a wailing mourner

ุฅูุง ุฅุดุงุฑุฉู ูุงุนุจู ุดูุญูุงุฌ
6. In their gait is the bending of a branch
Swaying gently in the soft wind

ุบุตูู ุชุฑูููุญ ูู ูููุงู ุฑูุฌูุฑุงุฌ
7. Her smile dispels the darkness
As if she illuminated the gloom with a lamp

ู ุจุจุงุฑูู ู
ู ุซูุบูุฑูุง

ุง ููุฑูุชู ุงูุฏููุฌูู ุจุณูุฑุงุฌ
8. And what her veil reveals is intoxicating
Like pure wine in a crystal glass

9. A moon whose brilliance lasts till dawn
A sun that glows even in the darkest night

10. For her beauty the talk of women and Joseph
For her glances the tale of Al-Hajjaj

11. Her cheek's color that of lees and her deeds
Her breath though without temper

ูุฒุงุฌ
12. For her stature the length of spears and her softness
Her actions decisively piercing

13. What business have I with the slanderers? Our dispute
Has persisted with their and my wrangling

14. They are accustomed to blame just as I am accustomed to the contrary

16. If they were fair to me in passion I would answer them
With some of my evidence and reasoning

17. It was not of my choosing that it entered

18. Of the ways of love I have the strangest tale

I felt and none knew of that intimate talk

20. And I reached her then appreciated her virtue and restrained myself

21. Until I saw the separation worsen and the tune
Of parting ones expressed continuous lament

22. So tears and sighs burst forth for the
Departed beloved and my speech was nonstop wailing

23. They betrayed while I remained faithful and did not breach
My nature or way in that regard

24. A nature that recoiled from a disgraceful path
While the means to glory beckoned me

ูุชููุญ ุฃุณุจุงุจู ุงูุนููู ููููุงุฌู
25. Until I praised one nobler than the ground tread
Who benefited me manifold what I sought

ุฏุญุชู ุฃุฌููู ู
ู ููุทููุก ุงูุญุตู
ูุฃูุงุฏูู ุฃุถุนุงูู ู
ุง ุฃูุง ุฑุงุฌ
26. The finest king who surpassed the highest
In nobility, so I kneel to him as to a crown

ุดูุฑูุง ูุฃูุฎูู
ุตูู ููุง ูุงูุชุงุฌ
27. A king in whose shade other kings take cover
From the heat of every raging inferno

ูู ุญูุฑูู ูููู ู

ุฉู ูููุงุฌ
28. The celestial spheres and his steeds competed
In outpacing each other in attack and charge

ูู ุงูุณููุจูู ููุฅูููุฌุงู
ูุงูุฅุณูุฑุงุฌ
29. He tamed fate with his wisdom so by his judgment
The planets course through the mansionsโ bounds
ูขูฉ. ุฑุงุถ ุงูุฒู
ุงูู ุณูุงุณุฉู ูุจูููุตูุฏูู
ุชุฌุฑู ุงูููุงูุจู ูู ุฐูุฑุง ุงูุฃุจุฑุงุฌ
30. His word holds back the course of misfortunes
Granting him the boon of relief
ูฃู . ููุนูู ุตุฑูู ุงูุญุงุซุงุชู ุจููุธู

ูููู ุนููู ุจุงูุฅูุฑุงุฌ
31. His formidable aura weakens legions
Till they retreat backwards in their ranks
ูฃูก. ุฐู ููุจุฉู ููุซูููู ุงูุฌูุญุงููู ุฐูููุฑููุง
ูุชุนูุฏู ูุงูุตุฉู ุนูู ุงูุฃูุฏูุฑุงุฌ
32. Hardships have accompanied his foes until they became
Rubble since their structures crumbled

ุฎุงููุชู ุงูุนูุฏูุง ุญุชู ุงุบูุชูุฏุชู

33. Soon shall his surplus grace overflow
What remains of the finest remedies

34. His sword in each calamity pursues those who flee
So it guides them in every confusing place

35. And terrifies them until they bid farewell
To their souls convinced of inevitable doom

ู ุฃุนุงุฏ ุงูุจุญุฑู ุจุฑูุง ุจุงูุนูุฏุง
ูุงูุจุฑูู ุจุญุฑุง ู
ู ุฏู

36. So how often has he made the sea a desert with his foes
And the desert a sea from the blood of their necks

ู ุฃููููุณู ุงูุฃูุนูุงุฌ
37. And soon he shall sip a draft
That remains for him from the finest vin key

ููููุฒู ู
ููุง ุจุงูุซูููุงุกู ุงูุฑุงุฌู
38. O you who hopes for the gifts of his right hand
To gain glorious praise from him
ูฃูจ. ุฑููููุง ุนูู ุงูุฏููุง ูุฅูู ุฌุจุงูููุง
ุบุฑููุชู ุจููููุถู ููุงูููู ุงูุซููุฌูุงุฌ
39. Gently, gently with the world for its mountains
Are submerged by your copious gifts
ูฃูฉ. ุฃุบุฑุจุชู ูู ุงุณุชูุจุงุทู ูููู ูุถููุฉู
ุชุนูู ุงูููุฑู ุจุฃูููููุง ูุชุญุงุฌู
40. You surpassed all in devising every virtue
That wearies the land even partially applied

41. You eclipsed mention of predecessors with some of them
So however much they are praised it falls short

ููุงูู ูู
ูุฏุงุฌ
42. You are the son of one whose resolve strengthened the caliphate
With the sword between hypocrite and counterfeit
ูคูข. ูุฃุตุงุจ ูููุง ุงูุฑุฃูู ูุงูุฃูุจุงุจู ูู
ุชุธูุฑู ุจุฑุฃูู ูุจูู ุบูุฑู ุฎูุฏูุงุฌ
43. And he got it right in wisdom for intellects
Had not gained such insight before him
ูคูฃ. ููุฑุซุชู ูุฐุง ุงูู
ูููู ุนูู ูุณูุนูุฏูู
ูุฃูุชุงู ูููู ุฅููู ุฃููุฑู ุฑุงุฌ
44. And you inherited this kingdom from him by his fortune
As it came to you while you sought it urgently
ูคูค. ูุชููููู ูุฐุง ุงูุนูุฏู ูููู ู
ููููุฃู
ุจููุฑูุฏ ุฒุงุฎุฑู ููุถูููู ุงูุนูุฌูุงุฌ
45. So congratulations on this feast for it is blessed
With the plentiful grace of your copious favors

46. Without meeting you, one could not undertake the burden
Of traveling amidst its toils and perils

ููุฉ ุงูุญูุฌูุงุฌ
47. To attain in the standing place of your presence a pause
With which to be numbered among pilgrims

48. For through your face each day we have the likes of it
Two feasts when you approach and we draw near
