1. When his clouds began to drizzle
As if the beloved was made restless by love

2. Thunder rumbles in them from the tears of life
And lightning smiles from the breaths of its winds

3. Tell of the generosity of the great Shah
Though each telling derives from his generosity

4. He is the king distinguished by perpetual merit
So each extravagance in praising him is truth

5. When poets repeat praise in verse
The leaves between the pages sing of him
