1. And a chamber made of a number of graves
Where I spend the night out of necessity

2. In a night of extreme heat
Like sheep heads in an oven

3. Shut tight, covered, baked
Its mosquitoes pierce like eagles

4. Or like comets, meteors and hawks
They act upon the faces and backs

5. Like spearheads act upon chests
Their sounds in the stifling darkness

6. Resemble what roars from waterfalls
So we did not stop wailing and raving

7. And every grave and dangerous matter
Until its morning came with light

8. Then I tasted the flavor of death and resurrection
