1. Peace be upon the Alexandrian side
It repeats from me to it permanence

2. A peace that whispers to that smiling cheek
Its shine weeped by clouds

3. I recalled my time in it and life still green
When I was a child and time still a lad

4. Our days like threaded pearls
Complete and intact in their system

5. A place where lively life died
Pleasurable and my life without it torment

6. In its western side are tombs
In them are coffins honoring me

7. Watered by the tears of rain at first and return
In them bones weathered from bones

8. Bones with two roots their branches being me
Your understanding of them suffices, comprehension and vigor

9. Two towering above the headstones
Lessening approval from them and ambition

10. Had they not been mine, my virtues
Would prove what the resolute said before me

11. Tombs in the cemetery have become superior
Due to them the scents are crowded

12. With them that soil was perfumed when with their perfume
Fragrance and flowers flourished within it

13. Some meadows boast of their praise
Having intimate whispers to noses

14. How much ambition in them and comfort
Merit, glory, towering and ambition

15. Faces departed from me and between me and them
An arm covered by soil and tomb

16. When I missed them sorrow lowered
Drawing near their graves and determination

17. But separation has now become threefold
Death, expanse, departure and illness

18. No closeness to the world except a phantom visiting me
Alas for wishes and sleep

19. O how often the snakes of life struck from their palms
And in their deception, shame is sensed

20. I will cry over them forever as duty
Perseverance after is forbidden
