1. The dove in her posture is naught
Save wine in its working when quaffed.

2. In both there is profit full great,
Though the sin therein is greater than its weight.

3. For wine folly brings in its train
When filled to excess is the cup or the brain.

4. And in plunging oft to its depths
Is peril from which no device e’er protects.

5. Then turn from them both and repent,
So Satan no more may mislead or prevent.
