1. O you who rejected my love,
today I will not give you anything but blame and rebuke,
١. أَيا مَنْ رَدًَّ وُدِّيَ أَمْ
سِ لا أُعْطيكَهُ اليَوْمَا
2. and by Allah I will not give you anything but blame and rebuke,
even if there is love for you in my heart that deprives me of sleep,
٢. وَلا واللهِ لا أُعْطي
كَ إِلاَّ الصَدَّ واللَّوْمَا
3. O you whose name implies intimacy,
yet you made the dowry and price too high.
٣. وَإِنْ كَانَ بِقَلْبي مِنْ
كَ حُبٌّ يَمْنَعُ النَّوْما
٤. أَيَا من سُمْتُهُ الوَصْلَ
فأغلى المَهْرَ والسَّوْمَا
