١. أَلبَسَني حُلَّةَ الضّنى قَمَرٌ
أَلبَسَهُ الحُسنُ حُلّة الخَفَرِ
2. From his cheek to his brow he sent
A glance beneath the forelock's veil.
٢. أَرسَلَ مِن صُدغِهِ لِعارِضِهِ
ذُؤابَةً تَحت لِمّةِ الشّعَرِ
3. It wanders over silver, over hail,
Over buds, over dew, over pearls.
٣. يَفتَرُّ عَن فِضّةٍ وَعَن بَرَدٍ
وَعَن أَقاحٍ نَدٍ وعن دُرَرِ
