1. My Lord, You are the Majestic One
At Your door of hope, the humble servant

2. Weak in state, downcast, destitute
Great in sin, with few helpers

3. Yet You are to Your servants a Forgiving Lord
Noble, abounding in pardon and grace

4. I have come seeking Your protection, O Master of masters
Hoping for pardon, a beautiful hope

5. I have come seeking Your veil for my shameful sins
By the station of al-Mustafa, I am a newcomer

6. It would be shameful if my hopes in You were dashed
For You are the Guarantor for Your beseeching servant

7. If Your servant's sins cannot be counted
Then the beauty of Your good pleasure has no equal

8. If You turn me away, to which door can I go?
What door other than Yours is majestic?

9. Misfortune has led the reins of my doom
To the valley of my disgrace—what an evil guide!

10. Where can I flee from the devil of my soul?
From its incitements—where is the path?

11. Great in pardon—if my sins are immense
Then my hope in Your pardon does not cease

12. By Your love, You are pleased with one
Who comes to You, humble and confessing

13. You are the Living, giving life to all lives
To those who call You, the Best Trustee
