1. When I implored Time for respite in sorrow,
He would not deign to shelter a suppliant.
١. ولمَّا سَألتُ الزَّمانَ الأما
نَ ولم يَكُ يقبلُ مُستَأمِنا
2. And as your indifference was prolonged,
To your dignity was my plea addressing.
٢. وطالَ اشتغالُكَ عن نَجدَتي
أتيتُكَ في العزِّ مُستَأذِنا
