Black as the hearts of lovers, beyond console

Leave her be, and take the rugged path to the plain

13. Word came to you, I am among a people
Wavering between refusal and return to my abode

14. As if the nights, oh Abu Al-Fadl, have destined
Their most generous one to forgo all generosity toward me

15. The most liberal among them is he who spared no expense
Of himself, though nothing else is worthy of expense
