1. They said the roses met, a dew kissed rose
And one, by running brook, kissed by the stream
١. وقالوا التَقَى الوِردانِ وِردٌ من الندى
وَوِردٌ من الماءِ القَراحِ الذي يَجري
2. I said to them “Do right by him who leads the troops
And do not wrong him, for the pond is not the sea
٢. فقلتُ لهم وفُّوا أبا الجيش حقَّه
ولا تَظلموهُ ما البُحيرَةُ كالبَحرِ
