1. I paraded her among the people as I chose,
Yet she paused only at the son of Mubārak.

2. Standing by generosity, unresisted,
Singular in glory, with no partner.

3. If you fear the turning of fate, take hold of its right hand,
You will find its sea casting forth a rescuing wave.

4. And say when you meet it: “Indeed, I was afraid
Of your distance from me.” God brought you near, my home.

5. So fate, which was unfair, has now been just,
And how can injustice be feared by one whose neighbor is you?
