Shunning guests and visitors on the road

3. We suffered with her as she wandered restless
Indeed I suffered much harm and woe

4. Never did we see you offer provisions
Only gazing from towns as you rode

5. To each tearful mournful eye you seem
As tears of water though tears of fire flow

6. Clouds related yearning in your absence
Yes, and the little birds chirped at dawn’s glow

7. You cared not for your companion or his fate
Nor knew what destiny held in store

8. My sorrows through the night did please him
Except my calls and protests evermore

9. A free spirit, if not for its honor
Would have cried in public without reserve

10. Time has judged them and warned the hopeful
Of those who status and curtains preserve

11. The noble were unequal so did not emerge
After adopting curtains and veils galore

12. Ali built with his virtues a home and cave
And the best of men are those who live poor

13. Who argues with him in times of crisis
When following divinely inspired lore?

14. They gave freely like pouring clouds raining
And he gave freely like floods evermore

15. The son of clouds, we know the floods are his
Evidence stands for those doubting before

16. His enemies panic and flee in dread
Bearing loot which they thought secure

17. Only to forage lives when he scatters them
And fill their property greedy and sure

18. Deeds that dazzle minds beyond any verse
That has humbled the finest speeches and more

19. You filled our souls with deeds and eyes with grace
And filled books entirely with tales of yore

20. The caravans hear daily in their travels
Only talk of you circulated afar
