6. Strict about livelihood, between
Misfortunes and difficulties

7. So why should I reject my habit
When people are creatures of habit?

That fate opposes me

9. When I saw my rewards
From its people, and my benefits

10. Praised with a description among them
And lauded with praises

11. And I heard my purpose calling me
In the speech of one with purpose

12. I called out, is there a worthless dirham
For ten poems?

13. A state, by your life, that won't please you
O son of the One God

14. Neither in prosperity with what you are generous with
Nor with the ungrateful

15. So he got angry, and I wouldn't appease him
Except with the anger of one who is glorious

16. He seeks as you seek
To the distant goal

17. And he stands while the honored ones
Rise above the example of the sitter

18. Showing praise, known
For the honesty of the praiser

19. It's as if the world
Came to him from every newcomer

20. How many acts of his generosity
Strengthened the resolve of the recipient!

21. O you whom I met with steps
Rolling up his sleeve

22. And so I sufficed from it what sufficed
To divert it from my envious ones

23. Gently, for your generosity has granted security
Against every stubborn one

24. And you remained alone, with no peer
To match you, for the deviator

25. Fate looked upon you
Apart from people, with the look of a critic

26. So pride yourself, for you have succeeded
In attaining righteousness from the corrupt
