1. O our brothers from our father and mother
To you, and with God and kinship, is our excuse

2. Will you not accept half from us while you are
The sons of our uncle? Nay, your carelessness misleads you

3. We will refuse just as you refuse, until your
Swords of Buṣrā and tongues and clans soften

4. Is our master and the master of Ibn 'Ammuna’s son
To be eaten while Muqīm and Manṣūr are given victory like Jayshur?

5. That is what the people did not know I humbled myself to
Until the grave takes me away

6. If only years of eight, then pilgrimages of ten
Had come between us before meeting you

7. My grandfather, I will never meet you again in life
Except your cheeks have become withered

8. When called to tyranny they stand up, their faces shine
And righteousness has a group of them as followers

9. What a wonder! Even the riffraff have become
Loyalists of honor, wine is not permitted for them

10. When we uncovered you to the nation of humiliation
You came forth with neither good nor gratitude

11. If my assumption is right, you will receive from God
Rewards, and treachery and betrayal
