1. I said to the grammarian who excelled the gazelle
And narrated the rose with a cheek and a temple:

2. “O you who have taken my heart as booty
With a charming, coquettish glance and aversion -

3. Stop and do not shy away when you see me
Standing with the stance of humiliation and despair -

4. And let the branch flow over the eye that shed tears
If the letter ‘ain and Allah's name harm.”
