2. What is this aloofness, by God, for a lover
Whose tears from yearning pour down
٢. ماذا الجفاءُ اللهَ في مُغْرَمٍ
أدْمُعُهُ مِنْ لَوْعَةٍ تَهْطِلُ
3. Does the full moon appear from afar
While you are near, yet do not prefer
٣. أيَظْهَرُ البَدْرُ عَلى بُعْدِهِ
وأنتَ بالقُرْبِ ولا تُفْضِلُ
