And its early days are renewed

4. Its birds' singing brings joy
And the streams of its Nile are ripe

5. Let the poets recite what they composed
As for me, today I improvise

6. O Egypt, time has given you generously
What miserliness had denied giving

7. This spring and you are its meadow
So you two harmonize, both verdant

8. If the crescent moves away from you, no wonder
For its brother moves on too

9. Or you'd accept an alternative after
Today your sun after it is an alternative

10. The Most High has lowered his aspiration to you
And paved ways to you

11. A path straight like a sword
And an extent like a balanced spear

12. If the progeny of the sun were revived
And saw your place on high, they'd be stunned

13. That which they aspired to but couldn't attain
And strove for its apex but never reached

14. A king who established its foundations
Like eternity, no weakness or leaning

15. The East smiles after its weeping
Having gotten over the anxiety that burned it

16. When injustice spread its rule
And the illnesses in its body appeared

17. And seditions upon seditions multiplied
And it became, due to them, self-consuming

18. Those who knew among the sons lost fervor
And those among the sons who were ignorant lost piety

19. And the king's building became ruined
And that ruin stood in its place

20. Time sent it tribulations
So they were struck, and it met its fate

21. Their Creator would not wrong them
If they had been just in their rule

22. Purest salutations upon Al-Hussein when
The countries summon and the flags wave

23. A fair-minded king, accompanied
By both completely connected brothers

24. People reckon he is a king
While God knows he is a man

25. His virtues dictate his extensions
Not what words and sentences build

26. Eyes fall on his fingers
As if familiar before

27. My patron, your Egypt is a meadow of bliss
And its fruits are humbled for the picker

28. So tend it amidst events, neither
Balking when serious nor neglectful

29. If you are advanced in years, no matter
Resolves do not require youth

30. And experience nurtures opinion
And the mistake appears in the youth's opinion

31. You are the king whose rule is a rule
So rule, for time complies
