1. She captivated him with her beauty and youth
Like a rose blossoming in the garden of paradise are her fingers

2. But when the messenger of love walked from his heart to hers

Who used to entice the bucks with her snares

He flirted with her but she did not flirt back

7. She was vexed while he was generous with affection and so
A repulsed heart met the heart that faced it

8. Fate condemned her to him, that unjust judge
That was an era where the most unjust of people acted with justice

9. She spent the springtime of her life not in a meadow
And he died without her warblers mourning him

10. Oh what sorrow for the branch that withers alone
While vibrant tendrils remain upon it

11. He exceeded the boundaries of his thirties
I would have deemed him worthy if his peers were fair to him

12. His rule has passed, may God not restore his rule
