1. The youth of youths is not one who went and took
To drink the morn's draught or evening's cup.
١. وَلَيْسَ فتَى الفِتْيانِ مَنْ راحَ واغْتَدَى
لِشُرْبِ صَبُوحٍ أَوْ لِشُرْبِ غَبوقِ
2. But youth of youths is one who went and took
To smite a foe or shield a friend.
٢. وَلَكنْ فَتَى الفِتْيانِ مَنْ رَاحَ واغْتَدَى
لضَرِّ عَدُوٍّ أَوْ لِنَفْعِ صَدِيقِ
