1. He has a day of adversity in which there is adversity for people,
And a day of bounty in which there is bounty for people.
١. لَهُ يَوْمُ بُؤْسٍ فِيهِ للنَّاسِ أَبْؤُسٌ
ويَوْمُ نَعِيمٍ فيهِ للنّاسِ أَنْعُمُ
2. So on the day of generosity, dew rains from His palm,
And on the day of affliction, blood rains from His palm.
٢. فَيَمْطُرُ يَوْمَ الجُودِ مِنْ كَفِّهِ النَّدَى
وَيَمْطُرُ يَوْمَ البَأْسِ مِنْ كَفهِ الدَّمُ
3. If on the day of affliction, He unleashed His punishment
Upon the people, no sinner would remain on earth by morning.
٣. فَلَوْ أَنَّ يَوْمَ البُؤْسِ خَلَّى عِقَابَهُ
عَلَى النَّاسِ لَمْ يُصْبِحْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مُجْرِمُ
4. And if on the day of generosity, He unleashed His bounty
Upon the earth, no destitute would remain on earth by morning.
٤. وَلَو أَنَّ يَوْمَ الجُودِ خَلَّى نَوَالَهُ
عَلى الأَرْضِ لَمْ يُصبِحْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مُعْدِمُ
