1. A bird, weakened by thirst
Like smoke, its breath rose

2. It saw a diamond like dew
Molded by water for its echoing eyes

3. Deceived by a spark like embers
The ignorant saw water in the rock

4. Finding no water despite striking with its beak
No water poured when tapping the gem

5. The spark itself avoided guidance
Striking my body with its beak in vain

6. I'm not water, don't see me as its pourer
I'm not remaining for anyone but myself

7. An ignorant one seeks to destroy me, not guided
To a life whose light began from it

8. Every beak breaks against my water
And you see the human dazzled by it

9. The bird saw no profit in it
So it turned away from its brilliance ignorantly

10. Regret burns in its chest
Its song's tune rises in sighs

11. And it shone like the nightingale's tear
A drop on a blossoming rose branch

12. It has the sun's radiance as a blessing
And the sun's fear in it as thunder

13. A planet thundering from the lineage of the sky
Dazzled by its beauty in this space

14. Deceived by sleeves and fertile flowers
Not given a share of life

15. A tear drop pours bedazzling
Adorning the cheeks, almost dripping

16. The bird passed by desiring it
Nay, hovering passionately around the drop

17. O you transgressor, subduing enemy
Are you a drop I see or a gem?

18. When the echo weakened the bird
It came alive with the life of another

19. The spark was anger that horrifies
It was no dewdrop to drink

20. Always preserve the strength of the self
And be the diamond not a drop of dew

21. You see the drop spill like a torrent
Bearing pouring rainclouds and rivers

22. Affirm the self and within it, realize
Be like silver in the flowing of mercury
